Going Green
Almost everyone is making an effort to "go green" to help save our environment. Here are a couple inexpensive ways you can make an impact: The whole paper vs plastic debate-the choice is neither. Be "Fit" For Success
Living a healthy lifestyle involves nurturing the mind, body and spirit. In our society we tend to obsess over eating and body image sometimes forgetting about the other two critical elements 'mind and spirit'.
*The Mind: You can obtain what you see. If you can envision your success you can achieve it. Just like your body, your mind needs to be fed. New ideas and experiences combined with creativity nurture the mind with fresh thought and inspiration.
*The Body: Keeping your body fit and healthy is important but it is easier said than done. Start off with realistic goals and build on them.
*The Spirit: Nurturing your spirit keeps you centered. Whether this involves getting in tune with yourself through meditation or searching out a higher connection, you will see that healthy living is more than skin deep. By taking good care of yourself you can become "Fit" For Success.
‘Take It on the Road’
Spa-goers recognize the value and importance of relaxation which is why many of you frequent Body&Spirit. Everyday cannot be a spa day, however, especially over the holidays. Listed below are a few simple stretches you can do while traveling, at work or at home to provide a few moments of relaxation into your day:
*Roll the shoulders – Bend forward slightly, hands on the knees and roll the shoulders five or six times in a circular motion. Repeat the roll in the opposite direction, then shrug the shoulders five times.
*Relax the back – Reach overhead, hold the elbows and bend side to side, repeating five times in each direction.
*Stretch the legs – Alternately lift the knees toward the chest to a count of eight.
*Refresh the lungs – Take four or five deep, cleansing breaths at the beginning and end of this sequence of relaxation exercises.
